A feather repository is a holding and distribution center that can legally accept and distribute feathers as protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act to enrolled adult tribal members of federally recognized tribes. Supporting legal access to feathers for tribal members aligns with our mission and work.

Feather Repository
The Repository, a one of a kind facility, is operated and managed by the Office of Law Enforcement, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and is located at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge northeast of Denver, Colorado.
Liberty Wildlife, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, is announcing the establishment of a two-year pilot program called the Non-Eagle Feather Repository. Its goal is to offer Native Americans a permitted source to obtain non-eagle feathers, and other parts, from federally regulated migratory birds.
This repository is operated by Sia: The Comanche Nation Ethno-Ornithological Initiative to provide for the ethical and legal acquisition and distribution of culturally significant feathers of all species of migratory birds other than eagles.
